This day we will go on a tour of Batumi. Here part of the historical city is combined with modern high-rise buildings in a modern architectural style. The city amazes with its contrasts. Historical buildings combine the strength of different eras and different parts of the world, East, Asia and West – Piazza Square, Georgian Alphabet Tower, Chacha Tower. Particularly impressive will be the ride on the longest cable car in Europe (2600 meters), which also passes at an altitude of 250 meters. After the excursion, you will taste the most famous dish of this region of Georgia – Adjarian khachapuri.

BATUMI SURROUNDINGS

Batumi Botanical Garden. It contains plants from all over the world. The garden is divided into several natural-geographical zones, such as the Himalayan, South American, Australian, and so on. At the top there is an observation deck with a beautiful view of the green slope and the sea.

Then we will go to the ancient fortress of Petra. The ruins of the fortress of Petra are located in the small village of Tsikhisdziri on the very shore of the Black Sea. It was built in the 6th century and was considered impregnable for a long time: on one side there is the sea and high cliffs, on the other – fortified walls and difficult terrain. Persia and Byzantium always competed for possession of Petra, because it meant control over the entire region and shipping at sea. Fascinating history and stunning views will not leave you indifferent.

On this day we will visit another fortress – Gonio-Apsaros. The famous fortress is located 15 km south of Batumi and was built by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. Gonio is considered one of the most ancient fortresses in Georgia. Now you can see the remains of Roman baths here. and even a water supply system Some believe that the tomb of the Apostle Matthew, one of the 12 apostles, is located in Gonio.

NATURE OF ADJARA
Natural beauty awaits you. Matsunkheti Waterfall and Matsunkheti Arched Bridge (Queen Tamara Bridge). It is very convenient that the waterfall and the ancient arched bridge of the 12th century are located very close, literally across the road. I can’t imagine how this structure is still standing! Be sure to get closer to the waterfall – it cools you down after the Batumi heat.

     Departure from the hotel. On this day, you will get acquainted with underground Georgia. According to legend, Prometheus was chained to a rock in the vicinity of Kutaisi. And one of the unique caves near the city is named after him. Stalagtides, stalagmites and even stalagmata, a fascinating excursion and boating in an underground lake will invigorate you for the whole coming day. Then we will go to get acquainted with another wonder of nature. Martvili Canyon, in the Mingrelia region. The canyon created by the play of nature was a place of rest for the local aristocracy. The unique nature of the Colchis forest, boating along the canyon will not leave you indifferent. Then we will go to the Chkhondidi monastery. Here the Apostle Andrew the First-Called destroyed the pagan temples and baptized the local population. A unique place. The history of the local wine is also unique. For centuries, monks have been making wine from red grapes. Georgians call the wine from it black, because of its color. And it is made only in western Georgia. ARCHEOPOLIS
We could not help but visit the ruins of the ancient city of Nokalakevi, or as the ancient Greeks called it, Archeopolis. The famous Argonauts sailed to these places for the Golden Fleece. Here, Princess Medea helped Jason get the coveted trophy. These places are the heart of the legendary Colchis. There is no need to describe the local beauty and history. You have to see it. Here we will visit a farm, where a master class on making suluguni cheese from buffalo milk will be organized for you.

Batumi – Sarpi

Batumi is the capital of the Adjara region. On this day we will visit the area bordering Turkey. Representatives of the Lazi ethnic group live here. Since ancient times, they have been famous seafarers. Therefore, we will visit the felucca workshop (fishing boats)odochek). The master working here is practically the only one in Georgia who is engaged in this craft to this day. He will show how boats are made today using ancient technology. Then we will go to the ancient Mamata Monastery, which is not only unique in itself but also located on the top, from where a stunning view of the Black Sea region of Turkey opens up. Next, we will meet the bazieri – this is what falconers are called in Georgian. People who are still committed to the ancient tradition – hunting with falcons. They will tell and show how to hunt with falcons and you yourself will be able to take part in this. After us, there will be a master class in Lazi cuisine. You will be able to get acquainted with the ancient cuisine, cook and taste it yourself. Return to the hotel.
