Day 1
Transfer to the hotel – Tbilisi – Mtskheta – welcome dinner On this day we will visit two capitals, ancient and modern. Tbilisi is the oldest capital in the Caucasus and one of the oldest in the world. The city was founded more than 2500 years ago, and in the 5th century, King Vakhtang Gorgasali moved the capital here. Cozy streets, ancient temples, unique nature in the city center, houses nestled on the edge of a cliff, all this will not leave you indifferent, and a fascinating story, colorfully told by our guides will immerse you in the bright diversity of fabulous Tbilisi. Then Mtskheta awaits us. In the Orthodox world, Mtskheta is considered the second Jerusalem. First of all, we will go to the monastery of the cross. The temple now standing over the cliff was built in the 6th century. It was on this that St. Nina erected the first cross in Georgia. These places are described in Lermontov’s famous poem “Mtsyri”. Then we will go to Mtskheta. The Svetitskhoveli Temple, towering over the entire area, contains five shrines – the Tunic of the Lord, the relics of Andrew the First-Called, the cloak of the prophet Elijah, a piece of the cross erected by St. Nina and a well with healing water. Svetitskhoveli is one of the two main tombs of the Georgian kings. Here in Mtskheta, a traditional Georgian feast awaits you. Then we will visit one of the oldest wineries in Georgia, which belonged to the princes Guramishvili. You will taste wines from local grape varieties Kisi and Mtsvane. In the evening, a welcome dinner with a folklore program.

Day 2
Uplistsikhe – Kutaisi On this day we go to the west of Georgia. To Kutaisi. But on the way we will visit a unique place, the cave city of Uplistsikhe, carved into the rocks more than three thousand years ago. This is the only ancient city preserved on the territory of Georgia. This is exactly the place, stories about which will not give any impression, it must be seen. Uplistsikhe is located near the city of Gori – Stalin’s birthplace. And of course we will visit the leader’s museum, where his personal belongings are kept, his personal railway carriage and the house in which he was born is preserved. Here we will have lunch, after which we will continue our journey to Kutaisi. Arrival in Kutaisi, accommodation at the hotel. Walk through the historical part of the city.

Day 3

Prometheus Cave – Martvili Canyon – Chkhondidi Departure from the hotel. On this day you will get acquainted with underground Georgia. According to legend, Prometheus was chained to a rock in the vicinity of Kutaisi. And one of the unique caves near the city is named after him. Stalagtides, stalagmites and even stalagmata, a fascinating excursion and boating in an underground lake will invigorate you for the whole day ahead. Then we will go to get acquainted with another wonder of nature. Martvili Canyon, in the Mingrelia region. Created by a play of nature, the canyon was a vacation spot for the local aristocracy. The unique nature of the Colchis forest, boating along the canyon will not leave you indifferent. Then we will go to the Chkhondidi Monastery. Here the Apostle Andrew the First-Called destroyed pagan temples and baptized the local population. A unique place. The history of the local wine is also unique. For centuries, monks have been making wine from red grapes. Georgians call the wine from it black, because of its color. And it is made only in western Georgia. Hospitable monks will take you to the cellars of the monastery, where you can enjoy wine from jugs. Here in Martvili, we will have a late lunch, traditional cuisine of Mengrelia. Kupaty, satsivi, khachapuri, kharcho – they have the character of the locals. Transfer to Batumi. Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner.

Day 4
Batumi – Sarpi Batumi is the capital of the Adjara region. On this day, we will visit the area bordering Turkey. Representatives of the Lazi ethnic group live here. Since ancient times, they have been famous seafarers. Therefore, we will visit the felucca (fishing boat) workshop. The master working here is practically the only one in Georgia who is engaged in this craft to this day. He will show how boats are made today using ancient technology. Then we will go to the ancient Mamata Monastery, which is not only unique in itself but also located on the top, from where a stunning view of the Black Sea Turkey opens up. Next, we will see the bazieri – this is what falconers are called in Georgian. People who are still committed to the ancient tradition of hunting with falcons. They will tell and show how to hunt with falcons and you yourself will be able to take part in this. After that, a master class in Lazi cuisine awaits us. You will be able to get acquainted with the ancient cuisine, cook and taste it yourself. Return to the hotel.
