Art Gallery “Chorsu”

Art Gallery is located at Registan Square (Tashkent Street), behind Sher-Dor Madrasa. Before it was opened at this place, the building had been repeatedly reconstructed and used as a large trading center. It was chosen as a trading center not by chance, as it had a very convenient location at the intersection of four roads. The decision to transfer the building to the Academy of Fine Arts did not come by accident. After the next major rearrangements a three-meter layer of soil was removed, which exposed the foundation of an old building. From the past of the building only its name, Chorsu, which is translated as four paths, left. Today there is an art gallery in it, in which the best works of Uzbek artists, most of whom are represented by Samarkand masters, are on display to many visitors. Gallery also works towards supporting young talents, giving young artists the opportunity to present their paintings on display.

In this hexagonal building, unique in its architecture, often exhibitions of new works by contemporary artists are held, including not only paintings, but also statues, utensils and other artifacts. The Art Gallery enjoys great popularity. An endless stream of visitors, as well as visiting tourists goes to it. It is not strange, because in the works of artists not only the beauty of the native land, but also the warmth and love, with which these works of art have been created are transmitted.

All the beauty of Uzbekistan conveyed in the creative works of the best artists, amazing visitors with its rich colors, tranquility, perfectly transmitted sentiments inherent in this republic. Do you want to touch the beautiful?
