PLANETARIUM

Behind the circus building in 2003 the building of the new city Planetarium was opened. Shortly before that, the Japanese government had allocated a grandiose, due to which a projecting installation of the type “Planetariy MS-6” of the company “Minolta” was acquired.

The building has a modern look and at the same time a traditional one – a glass cube covered with azure dome.

In the Planetarium you can see the exhibition and exhibition halls. In the latter there is equipment demonstrating the starry sky and the planets of the solar system. Thematic slides are projected onto the ceiling, as a result, viewers are deluded into cosmic depths with their stars, comets, black holes and meteorites. The maximum capacity of the hall is 50-60 people.

Scientists of Uzbekistan in 2008 discovered a new planet, which was named Samarkand. A small planet is in the belt of asteroids, whose orbit passes between such planets as Jupiter and Mars. One cycle of revolution around the Sun is approximately four Earth years. During the approach of Samarkand to the Earth, the collection of information continues.

The priority task of the Tashkent Planetarium is the involvement of residents of the capital and youth in the study of astronomy, as well as the organization of cognitive leisure. For mass excursions of pupils of schools, lyceums and colleges over 10 people there is a discount. However, this is not an obstacle if you want to come on an excursion with your child.
