BOTANICAL GARDEN

Tashkent is growing every year, increasing the number of vehicles, and this has a bad effect on the environment. Somehow, the Tashkent Botanical Garden, founded in 1950 on the initiative of Academician FNRusanov, became a kind of salvation for the residents.

Due to its location, near two canals, the trees have sufficient watering, and the territory is ennobled with five lakes.

The flora of the Botanical Garden numbers more than 4,5 thousand plants – trees, bushes and flowers. Thematically, the garden is divided into 5 sectors, in which the vegetation of North America, East and Central Asia, the Mediterranean, and also Europe and the Caucasus is collected.

The Botanical Garden is beautiful at different times of the year. In the spring, bulbous – tulips, daffodils and hyacinths begin to bloom, then the bushes and trees pick them up. Summer excursion will dive into the green coolness, and autumn will be remembered by bright colors of falling leaves.

Poplars, birches, spruce and pine trees have already become accustomed to locals, but a date with an Asian ginkgo tree will pleasantly surprise – you will rarely see leafs in the form of a fan on a long leg. No less impressive are the magnolias, metasequoia, eremurus, tulip trees and Japanese quince.

You can order a guided tour, it will tell you a lot of interesting facts and stories about plants. Or you can go out alone with family or friends. The main thing is not to litter and not be disgraceful, thereby respecting nature and taking care of the trees and work of the garden staff.
