Tbilisi Freedom Square

Freedom Square, which is a logical continuation of Rustaveli Avenue, has always been a meeting point of different political directions. In the center is the creation of the famous sculptor Zurab Tsereteli – a column on which top mounted St. George. Apart from Rustaveli Avenue, here you can get through the ancient streets, mindful of many historical events, such as the street Tabidze and Leonidze.

Throughout the existence of this area changed a lot of names, for example, many centenarians still call it Lenin Square and Lavrenti Beria.

The ancient building of the Town Council, located at some time in the center – the square was turned into a convenient information center for visitors. Here for free you do not just provide a detailed topographical map of the city, as well as all the necessary advice.
