Flagpole Dushanbe

Most likely, when you watch Dushanbe news, you have seen this enormous Flagpole in the videos, which is the tallest in the world, and is perhaps the city’s main attraction. The building was erected in 2011 in the central part of the capital. To the left of it is the Palace of Nations. The structure included 12 steel towers, and as a result, the Flagpole reached 165 meters.

The design of the building began in 2009, after which in 2010 the base of the structure was manufactured in Dubai and brought to Dushanbe. On November 24, 2010, the assembly of the structure began. The final installation of the Flagpole was completed by May 2011. The flag of Tajikistan was raised for the first time on May 24, 2011.

According to preliminary estimates, the construction of this structure cost about 3.5 million dollars. The Dushanbe flagpole became part of the city’s modernization, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the state’s independence. Not far from the building there is another important structure, a 45-meter monument, on which the coat of arms of the republic is located, 5 meters high. These buildings are among the first objects that tourists rush to see.
