Program

Day 1

Yerevan city tour
Arrival to Yerevan, meeting at the airport, transfer to hotel, rest a little. City tour: Cascade giant stairway, French square, Northern Avenue, Republic square, lunch at a traditional Armenian restaurant, Matenadaran museum, transfer to hotel.

Day 2

Garni-Geghard
Breakfast at the hotel pick up from hotel, tour to Garni- the only Greco-Roman type pagan templ, that was built by king Triditates I in 77 AD, dedicated to the sun of god Mihr. Tour to Geghard- meaning the monastery of spear, which originates from the spear that pierced Jesus Crist by the Roman soldier on crucifixion. It’s rock hewn church of 12th century. The temple of Garni, along with the nearby medieval monastery of Geghard are UNESCO world heritage sites. Dinner at a local restaurant at Garni. Participation in Lavash baking.  Dinner at the restaurant or a local villager`s home, where you will taste Armenian lavash, cooked in tondir, Armenian barbecue (khorovats) made in tondir, vegetables, presentation lavash baking. Return to Yerevan. Transfer to hotel.

Day 3

Tsaxkadzor-Sevan-Haxartsin
Breakfast at hotel, pick up from hotel. .Tour to Tsaghkadzor. It is a spa town  as well as ski Resort, which is also famous for its ropeways Tour to Lake Sevan. Lake Sevan is 1900 m (6,286 ft.) above sea level. The total surface area is about 5,000 km2 (1,900 sq. mi), it is the largest lake in the Caucasus, and it’s one of the largest sweet freshwater high-altitude lakes in the world. The color of the Lake changes according with the weather from a stunning azure to dark blue. Dinner at restaurant. Drive to Dilijan, resort town. Visit Haghartsin monastery complex Haxartsin monastery:  a white queen of medieval century in green surroundings. Return to Yerevan. Transfer to hotel.

Day 4

Vernisagge-Pak Shuka-Megeerian Carpet
Vernissage is in open market in Yerevan. Armenian culture is united there. One can find all kinds of things there souvenirs, handicrafts including carved wood, ceramics, paintings, needlework, Armenian duduk, dolls with Armenian traditional cloth, jewelry, carpets, books, t-shirts. Prospekt mall: market of dry food Dinner at a restaurant.  Visit to “Megerian Carpet” carpet factory. Transfer to hotel.

Day 5

Khor Virap-Areni Noravank-Jermuk
Breakfast at the hotel, pick up from hotel, tour to Khor Virap offers beautiful view to Mount Ararat near the closed Turkey border (about 5 km). Khor Virap means deep pit here St. Gregory the Illuminator the first Armenian catolicos was imprisoned for 13 years. Tour to Areni-ancient village of wine making. Visit to Noravank- the site is famous for its 13th century masterpiece two-storey yellow church, surrounded with red tall cliffs. Dinner at local restaurant. Tour to Jermuk -town of hot curable mineral waters of different degrees, Jermuk waterfall, which is also called as Mermaid’s Hair Waterfall”. Return to Yerevan. Transfer to hotel.

Day 6

Zvartnoc- Ejmiatsin-Ararat brandy
Breakfast at the hotel, pick up from hotel, tour to Zvartnots Cathedral-7th century wonderful monument, built to stay firm to the second coming of Jesus Christ, but unfortunately fell about 3 centuries later. Even in ruins it is of great architectural value with its breathtaking view of the Mount Ararat. Tour to Ejmiadzin-the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the seat of the Catholicos of All Armenians. It is considered the oldest cathedral in the world. Ejmiatsin with Zvartnoc are UNESCO’s World Heritage sites. Dinner at a restaurant. Visit to Ararat brandy-factory tour, cognac tasting. Transfer to hotel.
