10:00 Sightseeing tour:

How wonderful to find yourself in Baku, a city of secrets, mysteries, contrasts and centuries-old history. Here, every guest can find something for their soul. Someone will feel a little European, because the view of the Baku Bay is so reminiscent of the Naples Riviera, and the Venice of Baku will immerse you in Italian romance, Alexandre Dumas lived and worked here, and Marco Polo wrote about these amazing places 750 years ago. And someone will be able to feel the real spirit of the East, with numerous mosques, caravanserais, palaces, narrow streets, taking you into the secrets of the old city and of course colorful bazaars with a riot of colors from spices and fruits. All this is Baku, a city that remains in the heart of every guest forever …

The sightseeing tour will begin with a visit to the Upland Park. From here, from a bird’s eye view, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city. This is a complex that combines a memorial part, an observation deck and a magnificent park, and it is from here that the best view of the “Flame Towers”, one of the symbols of Baku, opens.

Then the guests will walk along the Baku Boulevard, where they will see the square of the State Flag of the Republic, the National Carpet Museum, the Mugham Museum and will be able to enjoy the view of the Caspian Sea. It is no coincidence that this is a favorite place for walks for the Baku residents themselves.

In the second, walking part of the excursion, we will learn all the secrets of the “Old City” or Icheri Sheher and visit many interesting places, such as:

The Palace of the Shirvanshahs is the former residence of the rulers of Shirvan, located in Azerbaijan.

The palace building is located on the top of a Baku hill, in the oldest part of the city, called the “fortress”. Currently, it is surrounded by ancient city walls.

The studio of the artist Ali Shamsi – Approaching the artist’s studio, the first thing you notice is a tree with piercing blue eyes, then you see random passers-by who look at the facade of the building with interest and take photos as a keepsake. The artist greets everyone in a friendly manner, invites them to enter the studio, allows them to take photos, compliments beautiful girls and gives everyone his solar energy. Azerbaijani artist Ali Shamsi has been working on Malaya Krepostnaya Street for over 30 years and smiles at everyone who, intrigued by the façade, decides to go inside the workshop.

Museum of Miniature Books – The museum contains miniature books published both in pre-revolutionary Russia and in Soviet times. In addition, the museum’s exposition includes books published in Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, from the republics of Central Asia, and Europe. The hospitable hostess of this museum will be happy to tell you about her collection and show you unique items.

Maiden Tower – The most majestic and most mysterious monument of Baku The Maiden Tower, or Giz Galasy, rises in the southeastern part of the Old City and has long been considered a symbol of the city. This unique construction of Azerbaijani architecture has no analogues in the East.

The Maiden Tower was erected on a ledge of the coastal cliff and is a cylinder made of local gray limestone, 28 m high and 16.5 m in diameter. The thickness of the walls at the base is 5 m, and 4 m at the top. Inside, the tower is divided into 8 tiers, between which there was a spiral stone staircase laid in the thickness of the wall. A well 21 m deep was dug in the rock inside the tower.

The impregnable stone beauty holds many secrets. One of them is why, after all, it was erected. On the territory of the “Old City”, there are also several dozen historical and architectural monuments: caravanserais, hammams, mosques and much more. It was here that episodes of such famous Soviet films as “The Diamond Arm”, “The Amphibian Man”, “Aibolit – 66”, “Tehran 43” were filmed.

Next, we will visit the famous Nizami Street. The street crosses the central part of the city from west to east.

Most of the buildings constructed in the first stage, as well as other buildings of the city of that period, were built in the style of “neo-Renaissance”, “neo-Gothic”, “baroque”, “neoclassicism”.

The best time to walk along the pedestrian part of Nizami Street, which was given the pre-revolutionary name “Trading”, is at night. Many of the houses are faced with aglay, a local light beige limestone, and when the lights are turned on after dark, you can imagine that you are walking around a Western European city.

10:00 Excursion to the Temple of Ateshgah:

Excursion to the Temple of Fire Worshippers – “Ateshgah”. The Fire Temple Ateshgah (literally the House of Fire) is located 30 kilometers from the center of Baku, in the southeast of the Absheron Peninsula and is perhaps the most exotic place where natural gas comes out of the ground, and when in contact with oxygen, natural combustion occurs.

Next Excursion to the Ethnographic Reserve – “Gala”. Gala is a museum that was created on the site of archaeological excavations. In the village, which is five thousand years old, there are a number of neighborhoods that have survived to this day. During the tour, guests get acquainted with ancient dwellings, the life of that time, traditions, and farming methods.
