Guest house “Jumagul-opa”

If you like ecotourism, then you need to go to the mountain village of Uhum. Ask where the home of the hospitable Kasymov family is. Their adobe house does not differ a great service, but you can plunge into a simple rural life of Tajik highlanders. Sleep on the floor on kurpachi or on one of several couch under trees, swimming in the summer shower in the yard and eat food cooked on wood-burning hearth. However, the experienced ecotourist does not scare even rural toilet, the main thing here is not a service, and quiet, air and indescribable atmosphere and energy of the highlands. In the garden, a variety of birds nest, their singing distracts from memories of city bustle and noise.

The house “Djumagul-opa” accommodates up to eight guests, so you can come with the whole family. Here you will not be disturbed by phone calls, you can catch a cellular signal just climbing a mountain. And you will not hear the news – there is no radio and no TV. In the opinion of Bakhrom-aka, such an existence is the limit of dreams, since the excess of information quickly worsens people.

Charismatic and cheerful host often entertains guests with jokes and numerous stories about local life. Sometimes they arrange folklore performances in the evening.

Under the guidance of senior Kasymov you can learn to ride on a donkey, that can be useful for walking to local attractions – the guard tower, the ruins of the fortress “Kurgan” and the ancient settlement, as well as petroglyphs and ruins of old mosques.
