TASHKENT HOUSE OF PHOTOGRAPHY

In the city of Tashkent on Istiqbol Street, 4, in the very center is the famous Tashkent House of Photography. The unique architectural monument, created by K. Babievsky, A. Petelin and V. Rozvadovsky, was erected in the last century.

The style of medieval architecture, which was used for the idea of ​​the facade, as well as the exquisite patterned part give the building a truly unique look. Above the carved doors that lead to the portal, a whole team of masters also worked. Before the eyes of visitors, spacious exhibition spaces open, the total length of which is fifteen hundred meters. All office space, according to the idea of ​​the architects, was moved up a floor above, so that the guests of the house immediately fell under the impression of the opening of the gorgeous works presented by various photographers.

The history of exhibitions began with famous Uzbek painters and artists. The earthquake that took place in the sixties of the last century brought a lot of destruction, it influenced the fact that the foundation and walls of the building itself were thoroughly strengthened in order to preserve the architectural monument for future generations. Each year was marked by holding at least 50 exhibitions of various directions. At the end of the last century, the Directorate acquired the status of the House of Photography, and since the beginning of this century, TDF celebrated its official birthday.

The building of the house serves for various events – symposiums, exhibitions, festivals, educational and educational activities. Here, too, was opened a school-studio of photographic art, where professionals from other countries – Germany, France, Romania, are constantly holding master classes.
