Ensemble Registon – an architectural monument that includes three madrasas (Ulugbek, Tillakori, Sherdor). The first building was Ulugbek Madrasa (1417-1420), then, against him, Khanaka Ulugbek (1420), Mirzo karvansarai northern part, western section built Kukaldosh Juma mosque (1430) by Alika, next to Hotamokori style, Mukatta mosque and Abusaid madrasah erected.
In the 20-40s 15th century, monument became a huge architectural ensemble.
Registan Square in old days was science, politics, religion center. Translated from Uzbek word “registan” means – sandy place. Tourists like to visit this place during a trip to Samarkand.
Today it is venue for all public holidays, city, republican, international festivals, concerts, including music festival “Sharq taronalari” – “Melodies of the East”
From western part are located khanaka, mausoleum, which were popularly called “Childukhtaron”. They erected by Kuchkinchihan (1527 – 1530), and Tillakori madrasah also built. In 1904, after earthquake, was destroyed, 1910 completely destroyed. Tilla-Corey construction completely restored during 1979. Madrasa facade Features decoration lined with brick and composing mosaic, majolica with complex geometric/ floral designs.
