This is one of visitor’s favorite placesduring trip to Uzbekistan. Tourists attracted by serenity, mystery, calm spirit. Lyabi-Hauz is comfortably located in Shakhristan southeast – one of districts located within city walls perimeter, but outside citadel.
Not far from location situated main Bukhara shopping street.
Showplace- the most famous and popular city sights. Here on same territory are collected magnificent architectural masterpieces –Nadir Divan Begi khanaka, built in 1622, Kukeldash madrasa, which construction dates from 1568. These beautiful buildings rise along an artificial reservoir impressive size coast (42 by 36 meters). This reservoir depth equal to five meters.
According literal translation, monument name means “pool coast”. It was from here that population received past century’s fresh water produced by local water carriers.
Vizier Nadir Divan-Begi became pond founder. It was on his order that a large reservoir was dug bet ween two madrasahs, khanaka territory. Politician took care inhabited locality architectural appearance; pond became final point in Bukhara majestic landscape formation.
