For years, here a necropolis, a temple and other structures for religious purpose were located. The complex acquired its current name after scientist-theologian Hazrat (Hasty) Imam Abu Bakr Kaffal Al-Shashi, who found the final resting place here.
The complex, which is considered among the locals as one of the main shrines has relatively recently been reconstructed. This decision was made by the president of Uzbekistan Republic Islam Karimov eight years ago. After large-scale restoration of the complex, this architectural monument, for a long time concealed by numerous buildings, got its original appearance.
