EXHIBITION HALL OF THE ACADEMY OF ARTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

Since 1974, a couple of steps from the Central Department Store, in the center of the city began to function Central Exhibition Hall, which is an opening day of the Uzbek Art Academy. There is a two-storey exhibition area, a souvenir shop and a restaurant « Barhan ».

The facade of the building best reflects its creative essence and purpose. National decor and arched openings remind of local cultural traditions, passed from master to master long since in madrasah. The bicolour hall connects the exposition of the first and second floors, and the windows in the ceiling create the illusion of open space and give additional natural lighting.

Pictures of eminent masters of the republic coexist with the works of young artists who bring new landmarks to traditional fine arts.

In the adjoining park you can get acquainted with the sculptures created by our contemporaries, and in the summer there are periodically exhibited and paintings.

The National Academy annually arranges a variety of cultural events designed to preserve and develop traditional applied art and painting. The last notable cultural event of the life of the city was the Tashkent International Biennale, held also in the Exhibition Hall in October 2011.
