Family in which Abdulhalik was born was deeply religious; from the birth, he surrounded by Islam and his rites sacraments. The father was imam of the mosque, and by age of nine, the boy recited Koran from memory. Abdulhalik’s scripture was completely natural; this knowledge was required for an actively developing spirit. At the age of ten, he took part in dervishes’ celebration. However, communication with them did not bring expected result, boy had to leave his home and go to Bukhara in true knowledge search.
At that time, city ruled by Karakhanids, their rulers were generous patrons of Islam. Mosques and madrasahs actively built; there were already numerous libraries that kept real “diamonds”- manuscripts in Persian, Arabic, Turkic, Uighur languages. They described history and philosophy. There were many works in medicine, astronomy, literature and exact sciences.
Abdulhalik with great joy plunged into this amazing new world of knowledge. There he met Sheikh Abu Yakub Yusuf al-Hamadani, very soon became his best student. Sheikh taught him everything he knew, and ancient manuscripts became an invaluable addition to the young man. Supporters of the “Hadjagan” should have realized helplessness, ascetics and loneliness, also refrained from contacting the relevant authorities.
