THE TERMEZ ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

For a full working day, guests of the city can visit the famous Termez Museum of Archeology, which was opened in honor of the 2500th anniversary of the city of Termez. It is divided into several departments, each of which represents its own, absolutely unique era of culture. Here you can find literally everything – from the era of stone and bronze, ending with the department of numismatics – objects of everyday life of different times, painting, photographs, statues, sculptures, ceramic vessels, stone pools – there are more than 27 thousand different exhibits on the territory of the museum.

The scientific library, which is part of the museum, is widely known, its creators have taken the foundation of the regional museum of local lore as a base, allowing visitors to enjoy more than 16 thousand various historically important books, documentary publications, unique publications. The most valuable are manuscript materials – in the museum you can find Arabic, Persian and European editions. Great interest is also enjoyed by the relief map, on which more than 20 archaeological monuments can be clearly seen, each of which is dated by completely different periods of development of the region as a whole.

Nine rooms of the museum detail the life of the Surkhandarya region, where absolutely unique exhibits are collected, starting from the primitive stone tools of everyday life to works of art, which in fact have no price. Halls follow one after another, starting from the earliest period of time, therefore, having passed through them according to all, as if you live the whole epoch in its entirety, making only small intervals for transitions to new levels. Workers of the museum, as well as a number of scientists, constantly replenish it with new discoveries, manuscripts, and exhibits.
